Health Journal: January 2, 2016

As you know if you read this blog, I'm really bad about keeping up with the 30-day challenges and such, so from now on, I'm just going to do a journal entry when I get around to it to catch you up on what's going on with my health. I have a good plan for 2016, but of course, that doesn't mean I can stick to it. It got off to a slow start when I had a lupus flare on New Year's Day and was pretty much bedridden for most of the day, but today I've had a great night's sleep and I'm feeling much better.

The plan for this year is to take better care of my health overall. I'm still working on the diet part, but I want to replace "The Dirty Dozen" with organics and eat more raw foods. Luckily, I now have an Earth Fare store just down the road, so I'll start shopping there. Financially, this is going to mean I buy less food, but I need desperately to lose 40 lbs. so eating less is a good thing.

As for the weight loss, I haven't really worked out a plan for that yet. My tentative plan is to exercise by riding my bicycle or walking every day, and doing step aerobics on days I can't due to weather. I'm working out an exercise routine with my stretch bands, and I'm going to TRY to work in some Quigong with all this. I figure with eating less, eating healthier and exercising more, I'll lose weight without even trying.

On to nutrition. I take about 22 vitamins and supplements a day. Yes, that is a lot, and I take some of them several times a day. I've never really worked out a schedule for them, so that's in the works, along with setting alarms on the computer so I won't forget.

I'm also starting a parasite cleanse today. I usually do this twice a year, but I haven't done one lately, so it's time. I'm using diatomaceous earth and taking Kroeger's Wormwood Combination, which I've found to be very effective at a reasonable price. I've found that starting things off with a good parasite and colon cleanse is one of the best ways to regain your health and energy. If you'd like to try this parasite cleanse, there is a link in the Amazon widget on the left sidebar. The way I do this is to buy two bottles, take one (17 days), take a week break, then take the second bottle. The reason I take a break is because you are not supposed to use wormwood for over 2 weeks at a time.

Enough for now. I'll be making posts on the particular things I'm using and their benefits this year too, so please subscribe to keep up with all the news, or you can follow this and all my other Simply Deb blog posts on Facebook and Google+.
